Ever since the first pharm chem lesson, I knew that I m not meant to be a pharm-er...

Circular discs with lines sticking out (Newman projections)...
bonds that can't stop rotating...
Chairs that don't look like chairs...
Flying arrows in all directions (rxn mechanisms)...

They all don't make any sense.

Why can't bonds just stay still?
Why do chairs flip?
Why do some molecules just drop off like nobody's business?

Seriously.

My dad should be blamed for my misery...
Since ms Khoo (my ny bio teacher) said that one's intelligence is inherited from your father...
(or maybe I just didn't receive the right genes...)

My serious lack of aptitude for pharm-ing is clearly reflected in the recent pharm chem lect test.

To spare myself from some embarrassment I shan't publicly announce my score to the world...

All I shall say is that it's a few points below the cohort ave of 35.9/100...

Which really sucks.

Since the scoring system for alevel will be like a who-suck-less-gets-merit kind...

Actually I was rather neutral abt my results. Like feeling sad because I ought to but not really sad sad I-wanna-cry-my-heart out-sad

That was until I had this conversation with QQ who happened to be seated next to me... (not the exact words but this is how the convo went)

Me: (seeing a v frustrated looking QQ) aiyah we can feel sad tgt since we hv like the lowest scores in the class ):

QQ: but I study v hard!!

Me: (abit insulted since he seems to be implying tt I didn't study) but I also got study wad.

QQ: (v defensive and li zhi qi zhuang) I read the textbook, read the notes 2 or 3 times and redo the tutorial 2 or 3 times...

Me: wow okay. I didn't read tb but I got read notes and redo tutorial la...
Why, very insulting to get lower than me isit?

QQ: YES! Very insulting to score lower than YOU!

Me: (omg abit stunned since I didn't expect him to agree so readily. So I displayed my perfectly parabolic pout.)

QQ: Yah. REALLY VERY insulting to score lower than YOU!

Me: (omg he had the guts to reiliterate it. Plus emphasing on each word as if to make sure I heard him clearly)

Ethel (siting nearby): QQ u SO MEAN!!!

Me: yah lor. QQ I don't wanna talk to u already!

QQ: I also don't want to talk to you already! Until I score HIGHER than YOU!

Me: (pout became a steeper parabola..)

Honestly I think this convo is more saddening than the score itself... ):
